Word Salad

Word Salad is a decade-long collage of witty, heartfelt, raw, and honest poems, stories, and spoken word pieces stitched together with grief, love and humor. 

Edited and curated by Mariam Riaz Paracha, this Spoken Stage project, a platform she founded to celebrate freedom of expression through performance, art and storytelling brings together voices from India and Pakistan in this intimate cross-border offering, with beautiful design and publication by Peepul Press.

Mariam is a writer, performer, and artist. She was the Art Director and Assistant Director of The Glassworker, Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated film. Her writing has been featured in Plato’s Cave Online, the anthology A Letter, A Poem, A Home, Little Old Lady Comedy, and most recently won first prize in a contest for Writer’s Magazine UK.
